Inter Milan vs Torino 27/08/18

27 August 2018

After a scandalous performance and a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Sassuolo in the opening Serie A match, Inter Milan will host Torino at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, hoping to cheer up the home supporters a bit. The Nerazzurri have been very active on the transfer market this summer following a successful season where they managed to qualify for the Champions League, but the most notable signing, Radja Nainggolan, has suffered a nasty looking injury during the off-season and will probably miss the next five games. Still, even without him, Luciano Spalletti’s team pulled off two encouraging wins over Lyon and Atletico Madrid during the warm-up campaign, but the lack of creativity in midfield has cost them three points against the Neroverdi. On the other hand, the Maroons have suffered a hurtful 1-0 defeat to AS Roma at home after seeing their leading goal being disallowed by VAR. Before that match, Walter Mazzarri’s side achieved a convincing 4-0 victory over Cosenza in the first round of Coppa Italia, which was their fifth win in the last six matches.

In addition to Radja Nainggolan, Ivan Perisic may have to skip the encounter due to some physical issues that forced him to start the match against Sassuolo on the bench. As for the visitors, Simone Zaza, who arrived this summer from Valencia, could spearhead the attack from the first minute alongside the likes of Andrea Belotti and Iago Falque.
