Inter Milan vs Lyon 05/08/18
5 August 2018
At the Stadio Via del Mare in Lecce, Inter Milan will play their second match at this summer’s International Champions Cup, as the Milanese giants are looking to take on the French side Olympique Lyonnais. The Nerrazurri have suffered a defeat to Chelsea in their opening match of the prestigious friendly tournament, as the Blues were better from the spot after the game ended in a 1-1 draw. Before taking part in the ICC, the Serie A giants have been involved in four summer friendlies failing to leave a positive impression, as Luciano Spalletti’s team only managed to beat Lugano by three goals to nil, while losing 2-0 to Sion and drawing two times, with Zenit St Petersburg and Sheffield United. Meanwhile, Lyon started the preparation campaign with a 2-2 draw with Sion after which recorded two wins, 4-0 over Fulham and 2-1 over Wolfsburg, while losing 3-1 to Huddersfield before achieving a 3-2 victory over Benfica at the International Champions Cup. A match in Lecce will be the second consecutive between these two teams at the ICC, with Inter beating the Ligue 1 giants by a narrow one-goal margin last year.
Both sides are expected to enter the game in full strength, as both coaches will have all of their players fit and ready for the encounter.
