Hamilton vs Rangers 30/08/20
30 August 2020
Rangers will be looking to post a tenth consecutive Premiership away win over Hamilton when the two sides meet at the Hope CBD Stadium this weekend.
A narrow 1-0 away win over Motherwell last time out gave Hamilton a first win of the 2020/21 Premiership season, ending a run of three consecutive defeats. Interestingly, three of those four results (win/losses) have yielded the exact 1-0 scoreline, with the winner in two arriving no earlier than a 75-minute mark. Adding to this sentiment, Brian Rice’s men have lost all but one of their 14 competitive H2Hs held at this venue (D1), including the previous ten. Immense difficulties in front of the opposition’s goal are accountable to the fact the ‘Accies’ lament the division’s joint-low tally of two top-flight goals scored so far. Both of those goals came inside the final 15 minutes of either half.
Meanwhile, high-flying Rangers have won four of their opening five Premiership matches (D1), with each of those triumphs seeing Steven Gerrard’s side keep a clean sheet and three yielding a full-time margin of at least two goals. But, a goalless away draw with Livingston means that both of the visitors’ top-flight games on the road this season featured one goal or less at a full-time. Stretching back to February, all six of Rangers’ last away fixtures have contained under 1.5 goals. Notably, though, the ‘Gers’ are the only side in the Scottish top-tier yet to concede a goal.
