Hamburger SV vs Bayern Munich 16/08/18
16 August 2018
After securing their first title in the new season, Bayern Munich will travel to Hamburg to play against the local giants at the Volksparkstadion, in what is going to be their final warm-up match ahead of the Bundesliga kick-off scheduled to take place in less than two weeks. The Bavarians have achieved an astonishing 5-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt in the German Super Cup, which was Niko Kovac’s first trophy in the new club after taking charge of the team earlier in the summer. Before taking part in the Super Cup Final, the most successful German club participated in the International Champions Cup, where they have suffered two defeats, to Juventus and Manchester City, while their only victory came against Paris Saint-Germain. The Reds also defeated Manchester United by a narrow 1-goal margin after returning from the United States. On the other hand, Die Rothosen intend to return to the top flight as quickly as they can following a disastrous last season where they encountered the first relegation in their 131-year-long history. However, Christian Titz’s team experienced a nightmarish start in their premier 2. Bundesliga campaign, as they have lost 3-0 to Holstein Kiel in front of the home crowd, although they have managed to recover from that loss and achieve an encouraging 3-0 win over Sandhausen on the road last week.
According to the latest reports, both managers will have all of their players fit and ready for the match.
