Gwangju vs Busan 14/06/20

14 June 2020

The two struggling K League 1 sides will face off against each other at the Gwangju World Cup Stadium this weekend, as Gwangju take on Busan.

The hosts have overseen a slight upturn in results following a dismal start to the season, as they’ve gone from three consecutive defeats ‘to nil’ to two straight games without a loss (W1, D1). Goals have been at a premium in Gwangju’s opening five league matches – all have featured under 2.5 goals, with just one seeing both teams score. Another low-scoring affair is a possibility here, considering that six of their seven previous competitive H2H meetings held at this stadium featured less than three goals -although the last four all witnessed both sides on the scoresheet.

Meanwhile, even though they come into this encounter on a run of three consecutive games without a loss, the visitors have yet to feel the taste of victory this season (D3, L2). For Busan, goals have been in short supply so far. They’ve notched up under 1.5 goals in each of their five league matches so far, drawing a blank in the first half of play on four of those occasions. Also, both of Busan’s K League 1 away fixtures this term have featured precisely two goals apiece, with three of them coming in the second 45 minutes.
