Sunday’s early afternoon kick-off at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez sees Getafe try to take advantage of Sevilla’s shock 3-0 home loss to Leganes on Friday and move one step closer towards miraculous Champions League promotion, as they host Girona side who still try to preserve their top-flight status.

With three La Liga games left to play, the hosts sit fourth in the table, level with Sevilla in terms of points, but they can create a comfortable gap should they manage to pull off a victory here. However, Getafe’s indifferent form since April (W2, D3, L1) should worry Pepe Bordalás, especially considering the fact his players have failed to pick up three points in both of their previous LL outings (D1, L1). Nonetheless, Los Azulones have been impressive at home in 2019, securing six wins in nine LL home games since the turn of the year (W6, D1, L2). What’s more, Bordalás’ men have restricted their opponents to a maximum of one goal per match in nine of 11 competitive home games after the Christmas break. Getafe’s stubborn defending ranks them as LL’s second joint-best home defense, as El Geta conceded just 11 goals in 11 LL home clashes this term.

Although a narrow 1-0 home win over Sevilla last time out brought Girona’s six-game LL losing streak to an end, the visitors are still frantically looking over their shoulders as they sit just two points above 18th-placed Real Valladolid. While the Catalans endured an utterly underwhelming league campaign, they still managed to impress away from home, as six of their nine LL wins have come on the road. However, although 22 of a total of 37 Girona’s LL points have come away from the Estadi Montilivi, Eusebio Sacristán’s men come into this meeting after suffering three straight LL road defeats, in which they’ve conceded five goals, scoring barely one in the process. Also, six of Girona’s last eight LL outings have been settled by a narrow one-goal margin (one in their favor and five against), with five of those games featuring under 2.5 goals.
