Getafe vs Barcelona 28/09/19

28 September 2019

Fresh from a 2-1 home triumph over Villarreal in their midweek’s La Liga (LL) clash, Barcelona head to the Coliseum Alfonso Perez to take on Getafe.

Although the hosts lost just one of the opening six LL games, they’ve already played out four draws this term (W1, D4, L1) – league’s joint-high. Interestingly, three of those stalemates have ended with the same 1-1 scoreline, with Getafe scoring each of those three goals inside the opening 25 minutes. A tough nut to crack at home, Los Azulones have racked up an eight-game unbeaten home run in the league (W4, D4), keeping a clean sheet in four of those matches. But, El Geta’s streak could come to an end here given that they’ve lost five of their last six LL home H2Hs with Barcelona (D1, L5).

Meanwhile, the Catalans are still chasing their elusive first LL away triumph this term (D1, L2), with both of those defeats seeing them draw a blank. Ernesto Valverde will be desperate to see his side improve on the road, as the reigning holders pulled off just one victory in their last eight LL trips (W1, D4, L3). A lack of away goals has been Barcelona’s main issue lately, as they’ve failed to find the net in four of their previous six LL away matches. Frustratingly for the traveling side, they have yet to keep a blank sheet in the ongoing league campaign having allowed over 1.5 match goals three times already.
