Gangwon vs Gyeongnam 12/07/19

12 July 2019

The in-form Gangwon side welcome the struggling Gyeongnam to the Chuncheon Songam Stadium, hoping to post their first win in home H2Hs since 2015 (D3, L2).

The hosts are unbeaten in their last six league outings (W3, D3), with two of those wins coming at home. Interestingly, all five of Gangwon’s last league triumphs have seen them score over 1.5 goals per match, with most of the goals arriving after the halftime break (12 of 15). Also, all three of their previous stalemates have featured goals at both ends, with Gangwon leading at the break in two. The Chuncheon Songam Stadium has been a venue of entertainment recently, as all three of Gangwon’s last home games have over 3.5 goals, with Kim Byung-soo’s men netting four or more goals in two.

Meanwhile, the visitors come into this meeting off the back of a 3-1 home loss to Ulsan, which was their 16th consecutive league match in which they’ve failed to pick up three points (D9, L7). What’s more, the Roses have struggled to secure an away victory in the league in each of their ten road trips in 2019 (D4, L6), with Kim Jong-Boo’s players netting one goal or less in each. Four of the Kindergarten’s last league road clashes have ended in a draw, with three of them finishing with the same 1-1 scoreline. Another frustrating fact for the traveling side is that they’ve struggled to keep a clean sheet in eight of their last nine matches across all competitions, allowing 2+ match goals on four occasions in the process.
