Fulham vs Wolverhampton Wanderers 26/12/18

26 December 2018

A derby between the returnees at the Craven Cottage will see Fulham facing Wolverhampton Wanderers desperate to end a five-game winless run.

Dead-last Fulham have lost three out of their last five Premier League clashes, conceding eight while scoring just two goals in the process. Along with Huddersfield, the Cottagers share the joint-worst record in the English top flight this season (W2, D4, L12), as they currently trail the safe zone by four points. No team conceded more goals than Fulham (42) this term with the Whites being the only team to keep a clean sheet just once in their opening 18 league outings. What’s more, the Lily Whites have allowed a minimum of two goals per match in four out of their last five home encounters, failing to hit the back of the net twice in the run.

Meanwhile, the visitors come into this meeting following a 2-0 home loss to Liverpool, which has brought their three-game winning streak to an end. Wolves’ indifferent road form (W3, D2, L3) has seen them securing just one victory on their last four road trips while Nuno Espírito Santo’s crew suffered two defeats in the process. Wolverhampton’s principal problem concerns their uninspiring displays in the final third that have seen them score one goal or less in seven out of eight away matches this season. Furthermore, the Wanderers have failed to keep a clean sheet nine times in their last ten Premier League outings while struggled to score three times during the run.
