Fiorentina vs Juventus 02/12/18

02 December 2018

Fiorentina will host Juventus at the Stadio Artemio Franchi in Florence looking to end a six-game winless streak in the Italian Serie A.

After a promising start of the season that has seen them securing two straight league wins, the Tuscan-based outfit struggled to maintain a good form, as they now sit 10th in the table with a 5-point deficit to the Champions League promotion zone. The Viola have played out five consecutive draws in Serie A, including a scoreless stalemate to Bologna last time out. Four of these ties ended with the identical 1-1 scoreline, and two of them came in front of the local crowd. However, the Lilies are still unbeaten in six home meetings, which puts them on a par with Juventus, Napoli, and Cagliari. Stefano Pioli’s players have bagged 18 goals in their opening 13 Serie A matches, 14 in six home encounters. Giovani Simeone and his fellow teammates have failed to find the back of the net three times so far although they have scored a minimum of one goal in all of their six home clashes. Meanwhile, the Viola have struggled to keep a clean sheet nine times so far, having allowed ten goals in the run.

On the other hand, the reigning Serie A champions are looking to extend a 4-game winning league streak. The visitors came into the game with big expectations, as they are the only unbeaten team in the Italian top flight so far, securing 12 wins and playing out one draw in their opening 13 league matches. Furthermore, the Bianconeri boast a perfect road record his season, as they have secured a maximum of 18 points in their last six away clashes. What’s more, Massimiliano Allegri’s men have scored a minimum of two goals in 12 Serie A games, which is by far the best attacking record in Italy. But, unlike some previous seasons, when it was almost impossible to score against Juventus, the reigning Italian champions have so far conceded a minimum of one goal on seven occasions although Chievo Verona were the only ones to score two goals against the Old Lady this Serie A campaign.
