Fiorentina vs AS Roma 31/01/19

31 January 2019

An unpredictable Fiorentina team take on an in-form AS Roma at the Stadio Artemio Franchi in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals.

Unbeaten in their last four competitive outings (W2, D2), the Viola now look to bring a two-game home winless run to an end (D1, L1). A lack of consistency has seen the Lillies going from four consecutive home triumphs to six games in which they’ve managed to pull off just one victory (W1, D3, L2). The principal reason for Viola’s recent home struggling is their defense that has failed to keep a clean sheet in six successive home outings, allowing over 2.5 goals per match twice in the process. Fiorentina’s last two SA encounters have produced over 5.5 goals with Stefano Pioli’s men scoring and conceding over 2.5 goals in each. The blow-minding sequence of efficiency has arrived after a four-game dry period that has produced just four goals in total.

Meanwhile, the Giallorossi enter the territory they’ve managed to conquer four times in their last eight visits (W4, D3, L1). Although unbeaten in their previous five competitive clashes (W4, D1), Eusebio Di Francesco’s men have been dealing with huge problems away from home over the past two months. The visitors have lost on three of their previous six road trips across all competitions (W1, D2, L3), conceding over 1.5 goals per match on three occasions in the sequence. However, Roma’s main force in the past few weeks has been their impressive attack that has scored over 1.5 goals per game in five consecutive meetings across all competitions, bagging a minimum of three goals per match four times in the process.
