Fiorentina vs AC Milan 12/05/19

12 May 2019

Out-of-form Fiorentina side come face-to-face with a struggling AC Milan team at the Stadio Artemio Franchi, as the visitors seek revenge on a 1-0 defeat in the reversed fixture.

The hosts are desperate to bring a disappointing four-game Serie A losing streak to a halt, as they chase their elusive first SA home win in 2019. Already established themselves as SA ‘draw specialists’ having played out more stalemates than any other team in the Italian top flight this term (16), Vincenzo Montella’s men have been involved in six SA home draws since the turn of the year (D6, L2). What’s more, all five of Viola’s previous SA home games have featured under 2.5 goals, with Fiorentina failing to find the net in the last three. Also, all four of Fiorentina’s home defeats this campaign have seen them failed to find the net, with three of those clashes ending with the identical 1-0 scoreline against their favor.

On the other hand, the visitors have managed to snap a three-game losing run across all competitions (D1, L2) as they’ve outplayed Bologna 2-1 at home last time out. Still, the Milanese giants can’t afford to drop points here as they currently trail fourth-placed Atalanta by three points. A worrying fact for Gennaro Gattuso is that his players have wrapped up just one point on their last four SA road trips, conceding six goals while scoring only two in the process. Also, a lack of creativity in the final third has seen the Rossoneri net over 1.5 match goals in just three of their previous 18 away games across all competitions, with Gattuso’s men struggling to score seven times along the way. But, four of Milan’s five SA away wins have come against teams from the bottom half of the table, with the Rossoneri baggin 2+ match goals on four occasions too.
