Eintracht Frankfurt vs RB Leipzig 25/01/20

25 January 2020

Eintracht Frankfurt will face a formidable challenge of halting a three-game winless run in the Bundesliga (BL) H2Hs with RB Leipzig (D2, L1) when the two sides face off at the Commerzbank-Arena this weekend.

A 2-1 away triumph over TSG Hoffenheim last time out has seen Frankfurt break a disastrous seven-game winless BL run (D1, L6). Their defensive frailties have seen the hosts fail to shut out their opponents in ten successive league outings and concede over 1.5 goals on six of those occasions. Furthermore, ‘Die Adler’ have struggled to secure a win in three of their previous BL home matches (D1, L2), conceding two or more goals in each of those clashes. Another potential worry for Eintracht is that they’ve allowed the first goal in 56% of their nine BL home outings so far this season, even though they’ve lost just one such fixture (W1, D3, L1).

The visitors are unbeaten in nine consecutive league matches (W8, D1) and have scored over 2.5 goals in each of those fixtures! Entertainment is not doubted when Leipzig play away from home. Indeed, eight of their nine BL away games have produced over 2.5 goals, with six of them seeing both teams score. Also, Julian Nagelsmann’s men often go for a furious finish when away from home. They’ve found the net inside the final 15 minutes of play in six of nine BL road trips, failing to keep a clean sheet in the same interval on three of those occasions. But, ‘Die Roten Bullen’ have failed to pick up a single win in all three of their top-flight trips to Frankfurt (D2, L1), with each of those H2Hs seeing both teams score.
