DPMM vs Tampines Rovers

Jalan Besar Stadium is the venue as DPMM and Tampines Rovers go head-to-head in their second Singapore Premier League meeting this season following Rovers’s routine 2-0 win in the reverse fixture.

DPMM’s first season in the Singapore Premier League after the Covid-19 pandemic has been off to a sluggish start as three wins from their opening 11 outings (D2, L6) pinned them to the lower reaches. An indifferent three-game league form (W1, D1, L1), bookended by a goal-glutted 3-2 defeat at Balestier Khalsa last time out, doesn’t make for good reading ahead of Tampines’ visit to the Jalan Besar Stadium. But the hosts have been a pleasure to watch at home, especially for the neutrals, with each of their five league matches at this venue in 2023 seeing over 2.5 goals and both teams on the scoresheet.

In the meantime, Tampines Rovers have responded to a 3-2 home loss to Balestier with back-to-back wins ‘to nil,’ breaking the deadlock within the opening 25 minutes of play on both occasions. Delivering action from the onset, the visitors have scored in the first 15 minutes in two of their five away league games this term without conceding once. But even if they fall behind, Tampines should have enough character to recover, considering they’ve only lost one of their four league matches in which they’ve conceded the opener this term (W1, D2).
