Denmark vs France 26/06/18
26 June 2018
After securing their spot in the round of 16, France is set to play against Denmark at the Luzhniki Arena in Moscow, in what is going to be a decisive match for the Nordic team. Although they have arrived at the final tournament after a strong performance in the UEFA play-off battle against the Republic of Ireland, the Danish Dynamite failed to perform at the same level in their first two World Cup matches. Despite the fact the Åge Hareide’s team managed to beat Peru and achieve a 1-1 draw with Australia, they seemed a bit confused at the back and quite uninspiring in the attack, with Pione Sisto and Nicolai Jorgensen failed to leave up to the initial expectations. As for Les Bleus, they are yet to show their full potential, as both of their two wins came by a minimal 1-goal margin allowing football fans to see very little from the likes of Griezmann, Pogba, and Mbappe. Denmark will be looking to end a dreadful 4-game losing streak against the 1998 World Cup winners, as it would remove any doubts about their qualification for the knockout stage.
William Kvist who suffered a painful ribs injury will be the only Danish player to skip the match while Didier Deschamps should count on all of his players.
