Daegu vs Jeonbuk Motors 08/08/20

08 August 2020

Daegu will entertain Jeonbuk Motors at the Daegu Stadium this weekend, hoping to post an elusive first-ever win in their K League 1 home H2Hs (D2, L14). Notably, the hosts have lost all ten of their previous such clashes, scoring one goal or less in each while conceding over 1.5 goals in eight, including the last four.

After 2-2 away draw with Busan on Matchday 7, it’s been a pretty straightforward run for Daegu (W5, L2), with two of those wins arriving in the last two league outings. Additionally, none of their previous five K League 1 home fixtures has ended in a draw (W4, L1), with each of those results (wins/losses) seeing the winner on the day score over 1.5 second-half goals and four yielding at least a two-goal margin. Lee Byung-keun’s men often unleash their attacking potential after the break, with 70.59% (12) of their 17 top-flight home goals scored this term coming in the second half of play.

Meanwhile, the visitors have gone from back-to-back league draws to two consecutive wins, with three of those matches producing over 2.5 goals. However, the ‘Warriors’ are winless in two top-flight away matches (D1, L1), having scored only once across those trips. Interestingly, Jeonbuk’s away action usually sparks into life after halftime, as 58.82% (ten) of the 17 K League 1 away goals scored/conceded so far arrived in the second 45 minutes of play. Indeed, five of Jeonbuk’s seven league games on the road this term have witnessed at least one goal coming beyond the 75-minute mark.
