The Czech Republic and Denmark go head-to-head in an unexpected Euro 2020 quarter-final showdown at the Baku Olympic Stadium.

The Czech Republic took full advantage of an extra man to knock the Netherlands out of the competition with a comfortable 2-0 win in the Round of 16 to set up their fourth quarter-finals in seven Euro appearances as an independent nation. Notably, the Czechs have successfully negotiated two of their last three European Championship quarter-final ties, with a tight 1-0 defeat to Portugal in 2012 the solitary exception to this run. Notably, though, the Czech Republic became the first nation to prevent the Netherlands from producing a single attempt on target at the European Championships since 1980. What’s more, Denmark’s all-out-attack philosophy has seen them average 18.8 shots and 7.3 attempts on target per game at Euro 2020 so far en route to setting a record within major competitions since 1966. However, Denmark have to be wary of the fact they have lost both of their previous meeting with the Czech Republic at major tournaments without scoring.
