Crystal Palace vs Liverpool 21/08/18

21 August 2018

After a stunning 4-0 victory over West Ham United on the opening day of the season, Liverpool will take a trip to London, where they will face off against Crystal Palace at the Selhurst Park, hoping to maintain an impressive form. The Eagles have achieved a comfortable 2-0 win over Fulham on the road in the first Premier League fixture, which was a confirmation of a great performance they have shown during the preparation period. After the end of the last season, where they failed to impress for the majority of the campaign, the Glaziers have featured in eight warm-up matches, recording a massive seven wins, while drawing once in the process, and it seems they might have their say this year. On the other hand, the Merseysiders have been majestic this summer in the United States, where they have demolished Manchester United by four goals to one while outplaying Manchester City at the same time at the International Champions Cup. Before last week’s win, Jurgen Klopp’s side also secured two promising triumphs, against Torino and Napoli, scoring eight goals in the process.

Scott Dann will skip the encounter due to injury, while the appearance of Connor Wickham, Max Meyer, and Jordan Ayew still hangs in the balance. As for the visitors, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will watch the game from the stands, as well as, Dejan Lovren and Joel Matip as all of them are yet to return from injuries.
