Croatia vs Denmark 02/07/18

2 July 2018

One of the most dominant teams of the World Cup so far, Croatia, will be playing against Denmark at the Nizhny Novgorod Stadium looking to maintain an outstanding form and qualify for the quarter-finals. The Blazers finished top of Group D ahead of Argentina, winning all three matches in the group stage, including the exceptional 3-0 triumph over La Albiceleste in the second round. Zlatko Dalic’s team also defeated Nigeria and Iceland, finishing the group stage with a +6 goal difference, with only the Strákarnir okkar managing to score a goal against the stubborn Croatian defense. On the other hand, Denmark’s performance was far from impressive, as they have only pulled off a narrow 1-0 win over Peru in their opening World Cup match, while failed to beat Australia and France, drawing both times. The Danish Dynamite have to step up their game if looking to beat Croatia, who showed the most of all teams in Russia so far, as Åge Hareide desperately trying to lead his side to the quarter-finals for the first time since the 1998 World Cup in France.

After commencing on the bench against Iceland, Šime Vrsaljko, Domagoj Vida, Dejan Lovren, Ivan Rakitic, Ante Rebic, and Mario Mandzukic should all return to the starting line-up for Croatia. As for Denmark, Lasse Schone and Nicolai Jorgensen might both start from the first minute in favor of Mathias Jorgensen and Andreas Cornelius who flopped against Les Bleus.
