Chelsea vs Manchester City 05/08/18

5 August 2018

Chelsea and Manchester City have the chance to win the first prestigious title in the 2018-2019 campaign, as two Premier League giants are set for a face to face encounter in the FA Community Shield Final that will take place at the Wembley Stadium in London. After a comfortable 1-0 win over Perth Glory, the Blues participated in two difficult matches at the International Champions Cup recording a partial success, as they beat Inter Milan on penalties while losing to Arsenal the same way. The current Premier League champions had a turbulent preparation campaign, as Pep Guardiola had to use youngster for the most time due to the extended break that has been handed to the players who had participated in the recently completed World Cup. Therefore, the Citizen didn’t have much success in the United States tour, losing 1-0 to Borussia Dortmund and 2-1 to Liverpool, while they have only managed to defeat Bayern Munich by three goals to two. However, the match against Chelsea will see all of City’s key players backto action, with Guardiola looking to capture another trophy in his prolific coaching career.

Mauricio Sarri is eager to start his adventure in London on the right foot, which is why Chelsea will enter the encounter at full strength, with Jorginho, Fabregas, and Ross Barkley expected to hold down the midfield. As for Manchester City, Guardiola won’t have Danilo and Riyad Mahrez at his disposal, as both of them are sidelined by injuries, while all other City’s key players seem to be fit and ready for the big showdown.
