Chelsea vs Inter Milan 29/07/18
29 July 2018
At the Allianz Riviera in Nice, Chelsea and Inter Milan will open their 2018 International Champions Cup journey, with the London side looking to step up their preparations after featuring in only one warm-up match so far this summer. The Blues defeated the Australian team Perth Glory earlier this week thanks to the 5th-minute goal by Pedro, but facing the Milanese giants will be a much bigger bite for Mauricio Sarri’s players, who intend to return to the Champions League next year. On the other hand, the Nerazzurri already featured in four friendlies after the end of the World Cup, but they failed to leave a positive impression, as Sion comfortably beat them by two goals to nil, while Sheffield United and Zenit St Petersburg walked away with a draw. The only victory Luciano Spalletti’s team managed to pull off was a 3-0 win over Lugano in their first summer’s friendly. These two teams played against each other the International Champions Cup three times since its foundation, and their last encounter dates back to last summer when Inter defeated the EPL side by two goals to one.
Sarri will have his first summer signing Jorginho ready for the match, as well as, Morata, Pedro, and Fabregas who all took part in the game against Perth Glory, while Spalletti won’t have Dalbert Henrique at his disposal after the former Nice’s man suffered a nasty looking injury against Sheffield United.
