Chelsea vs Fulham 02/12/18

02 December 2018

After a routine 4-0 win over 10-men PAOK side, Chelsea will host Fulham to Stamford Bridge looking to return on winning ways in the Premier League.

Chelsea suffered their first defeat this season last weekend, as Tottenham Hotspur hammered them by three goals to one at Wembley. The Blues are going through a turbulent period in the domestic championship, considering they have failed to wrap up all three points five times in their previous eight Premier League meetings. Before losing to the Spurs, Maurizio Sarri’s players were held to a scoreless draw to Everton at home, which was their third draw in the last four home matches. A 0-0 draw with the Toffees was the only time Chelsea failed to score a goal in front of the local crowd, as they scored a minimum of two goals five times in six home clashes before facing Everton. However, the Blues have aggregated just two clean sheets at Stamford Bridge while they have racked up four clean sheets on the road.

The visitors, on the other hand, are nailed to the bottom of the table along with Cardiff City and Southampton, whom they have managed to beat 3-2 at home in their last Premier League fixture. No other side in the English top flight has conceded more goals than Fulham this season, as the Cottagers already allowed 33 goals in just 13 league games. The Whites are the only team in the Premier League that is yet to keep a clean sheet. They have so far conceded an average of 2.54 goals per match. Meanwhile, led by the likes of Aleksandar Mitrovic (7 goals) and Andre Schurrle (5 goals), the Lily Whites have managed an average of just 1.08 goals per game, mainly thanks to uninspiring road displays. The Premier League returnees have failed to find the back of the net three times in their seven road encounters, but they have bagged a minimum of two goals two times in the process.
