Celta Vigo vs Deportivo Alaves 20/10/18

20 October 2018

Celta Vigo will host Deportivo Alaves at the Estadio de Balaídos, hoping to end a disastrous 5-game winless streak in the Spanish La Liga.

The Celts have opened the season with a 1-1 draw with Espanyol on the road, after which they achieved two successive triumphs over Levante and Atletico Madrid. However, a poor defensive performance has seen the Sky Blues failing to secure a victory in the following five fixtures, having suffered two defeats while playing out three draws in the process. Antonio Mohamed’s team conceded at least a goal in the previous five league matches although they’ve also bagged a minimum of one goal in each of those encounters.

On the other hand, the Babazorros wrapped up a sensational 1-0 triumph over Real Madrid at home just before the international break, which was their fourth win in La Liga this season, as they currently occupy the sixth place with a 2-point deficit to leaders Sevilla. The three out of four away matches El Glorioso played in the league so far has ended with three or more goals, with Abelardo’s side securing a pair of wins while losing two times, having scored 7 and conceded 6 goals in the process.

According to the latest reports, both managers will have all of their key players fit and ready for the encounter, with Emre Mor and Mathias Jensen heading towards Celta return following some physical problems.
