Cardiff City vs Wolverhampton Wanderers 01/12/18

01 December 2018

The two out-of-form sides will face-off at the Cardiff City Stadium, with Cardiff City preparing to take on Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The hosts have lost four out of their six Premier League home clashes, but they have clinched a pair of triumphs in their last three games in front of the local crowd. However, apart from a scoreless draw with Newcastle United in their first home game, the Bluebirds have failed to keep a clean sheet in the remaining seven local matches across all competitions, conceding a minimum of two goals five times in the process. Only three teams in the Premier League have allowed more goals than Cardiff. Meanwhile, Neil Warnock’s men have so far scored just eleven goals, which makes them the fourth-worst attacking side in the English top flight.

On the other hand, the visitors have slowed down after a promising start, as they currently sit 11th in the table, mainly thanks to a dreadful performance in the last five matches. Wolves have lost four out of the previous five Premier League encounters, failing to find the back of the net three times in the run. Goals have been in short supply in all of their six road meetings, with the Wanderers remaining the only team whose all away matches produced less than three goals. Although they have bagged a minimum of one goal eight times in their opening 13 EPL clashes, Nuno Espírito Santo’s players have managed a brace on just three occasions so far. Wolverhampton’s main strength, however, relates to their stubborn defensive performance, as they have allowed only five goals on the road, 15 overall, which is the 5th-best record in the English top flight.
