Cardiff City vs Manchester City 22/09/18

22 September 2018

After a shameful 2-1 defeat to Lyon at the Etihad Stadium in the Champions League opener, Manchester City will travel to Wales, where they are supposed to meet Cardiff City at the Cardiff City Stadium.

The Bluebirds are one of four teams in the English Premier League that so far failed to achieve a victory in the championship, as they’ve lost three games while playing out two draws in the process. The only two points Cardiff secured so far came against the relegation zone rivals, Newcastle United and Huddersfield Town, and both times Neil Warnock’s side failed to score a goal. Meanwhile, Bournemouth, Chelsea, and Arsenal are the clubs that the Welsh outfit aside, with the Gunners being the only ones to walk away from the Cardiff City Stadium with all three points.

The Citizens, on the other hand, outclassed Arsenal on the opening matchday in London by two goals to nil, after which they’ve crashed Huddersfield 6-1 at home. A 3-0 win over Fulham and a 2-1 success over Newcastle currently see Guardiola’s team trailing Chelsea and Liverpool by two points thanks to a disappointing 1-1 draw with Wolves.

Aron Gunnarsson, Nathaniel Mendez-Laing, and Josh Murphy won’t be available for the hosts, while Claudio Bravo, Danilo, Eliaquim Mangala, Benjamin Mendy, and Kevin De Bruyne won’t be performing for the visitors due to various physical problems.
