Burnley vs West Ham United 30/12/18

30 December 2018

After a disastrous 5-1 home loss to Everton, Burnley will take on West Ham United at the Turf Moor hoping to end a three-game Premier League losing streak.

A poor haul of just three points in their last seven Premier League outings (W1, L6) has seen Burnley sliding down the table, as they currently sit in the relegation zone, with a three-point deficit to Cardiff City. A dreadful period the Clarets are going through at the moment has seen them losing nine out of their previous 11 league clashes, with Sean Dyche’s men failing to keep a clean sheet in 12 out of their last 14 competitive matches. Turf Moor has not been the fortress Burnley’s fans would have hoped for this season as the Clarets lost six out of nine home encounters this term, securing just two wins in the process. Furthermore, Burnley have lost four of last five local games, conceding 14 goals while scoring barely four during the run.

On the other hand, the visitors have notably raised their game after a disappointing start of the season. The Hammers have won five out of their last six Premier League meetings, suffering one defeat in the process. The Irons come into this meeting following a 2-1 road win over Southampton, which was their third consecutive road triumph. What’s more, Manuel Pellegrini’s players have racked up a five-game road unbeaten run (W3, D2) that has seen the London-based outfit scoring at least one goal in each encounter. Also, the Hammers are looking to stretch a five-game lossless road streak against Burnley in all competitions, as West Ham won three out of their last four visits to Turf Moor.
