Out-of-form Tottenham Hotspur travel to Turf Moor to take on an in-form Burnley side, hoping to return to winning ways in the Premier League (PL).

Sitting two points adrift of Tottenham ahead of the kick-off, the hosts could take Spurs’ place in the standings, and they have a six-game unbeaten PL run to back those hopes (W4, D2). As long as they manage to shut out the visitors, the Burnley can win here – six of their seven PL home triumphs this term have yielded a clean sheet. But, the Clarets could find themselves in trouble if they ship the opening goal, as they’ve done in seven of 14 PL home fixtures – Sean Dyche’s side lost all but one of their home matches in which they’ve conceded the opener (W1). Far more dangerous after the break, Burnley have scored 79% of their total league home goals in the second half (15/19).

Meanwhile, a shock FA Cup elimination to Norwich at midweek has extended Tottenham’s losing streak to four games in all competitions, with each of those defeats (90 minutes only) yielding a single-goal margin. Away from home in the league, Spurs have won two of their last seven matches, with all of those fixtures ending separating the sides by under 1.5 goals (D2, L3). A trip to Burnley could come useful in Jose Mourinho’s efforts to bring his side back to winning ways, considering the Londoners have lost just one of their four previous top-flight away H2Hs (W2, D1), shutting the home team out on three of those occasions. However, a leaky backline has been a real problem for the visitors this season, as they’ve managed only one blank sheet in 14 PL road trips so far.
