Burnley will be looking to halt a three-game winless run in the Premier League (PL) head-to-head meetings with Leicester City (D1, L2) when the two teams lock horns at Turf Moor this weekend.

Defeated ‘to nil’ in three of their last four PL outings (L4), the hosts have allowed relegation-threatened Aston Villa to cut down the gap between the sides to just three points. Also, four losses in their previous five PL home fixtures (W1, L4) now means that none of Burnely’s 11 league matches at Turf Moor this season has ended in a stalemate (W5, L6). Notably, eight of those 11 results (win/loss) have seen the winners on the day keep a clean sheet, with nine seeing the winning side score two or more goals. Moreover, the Clarets have lost two of their last four top-flight home H2Hs with Leicester, winning the other two, with each of those four results coming via a single-goal margin.

Eight consecutive league triumphs now seem like a distant memory for the visitors, who have now won just two of their previous six PL fixtures (D1, L3). Still, the Foxes have run out winners in six of their last seven PL road trips (L1), with each of those victories seeing them score over 1.5 goals. Another success here will mainly depend on whether Leicester can open the scoring or not. Indeed, Brendan Rodgers’ men have returned just one point from three PL away games where they’ve shipped the opener (D1, L2). Meanwhile, they’ve won seven of eight road matches that have seen them break the deadlock, with a 3-1 loss to Manchester City a lone exception.
