Burnley vs Chelsea 28/10/18

After a routine 3-1 triumph over BATE Borisov in the Europa League, Chelsea will travel to Turf Moor to meet Burnley, hoping to extend an impressive 13-game lossless streak under Maurizio Sarri.

Unlike last season where they’ve managed to secure the Europa League promotion, the Clarets are not having the best of time. With a record of two wins, two draws, and five losses, they are sitting in 13th place with a 3-point lead over the relegation zone based Fulham. Sean Dyche’s team defeated Bournemouth 4-0 and played out a 1-1 draw with Huddersfield following two straight home failures against Watford and Manchester United. Burnley only kept a clean sheet twice this year, once at home, while they’ve scored a brace three times in the opening nine Premier League fixtures. With 17 goals conceded so far, the Lancashire-based outfit have the fourth-worst defensive record in English top flight after Fulham, Huddersfield, and Cardiff City.

On the other hand, the Blues currently trail Manchester City and Liverpool by two points, as they’ve clinched six league victories, having been held to three draws in the process. Apart from a scoreless draw with West Ham United, the London side secured nine points in the remaining three away matches, defeating Huddersfield, Newcastle United, and Southampton, conceding only one goal in the process. Considering they’ve allowed just one goal on the road, Chelsea have the best defensive record in the Premier League when it comes to away meetings along with Manchester City. Moreover, Sarri’s players notched a total of eight goals away from Stamford Bridge, as they have managed to score a brace in 75% of their road encounters.
