Brighton & Hove Albion vs Leicester City 23/11/19

23 November 2019

Brighton & Hove Albion and Leicester City will face off at the Amex Stadium this weekend as the visitors looking to maintain an impressive run of form in the Premier League (PL).

A 3-1 away defeat to Manchester United on the eve of the international break has halted Brighton’s two-game winning streak and left them hovering in mid-table. Still, after a 2-0 loss to Southampton in late August, the hosts have racked up a four-game unbeaten run at the Amex Stadium (W3, D1), winning all three of their previous PL home outings. While two of those wins witnessed Graham Potter’s side score precisely two second-half goals, two have seen them shut out their opponents. Also, ten of their total 15 PL goals scored so far have come at home (66%), with eight of them arriving during the above run. However, the Seagulls have failed to beat Leicester in both of their previous top-flight H2Hs on home turf (D1, L1), scoring just one goal while conceding three.

Meanwhile, high-flying Leicester City head to Brighton on a four-game winning streak, hoping to reduce an eight-point gap on table-toppers Liverpool. Three of their previous four PL victories have been accompanied by a clean sheet, while three have seen them score precisely two goals per match too. Leicester’s rise has seen them go from two straight PL away defeats to back-to-back triumphs – both of which have seen them shut out their rivals. If the Foxes win here, it will probably see Brighton concede twice, as all three of Leicester’s PL away successes this term saw them score at least two goals. But, allowing the opener could prove fatal for the traveling side, as they’ve returned just one point from three PL road trips where they’ve conceded first.
