Brescia vs Juventus 25/09/19

25 September 2019

Two sides that won their respective Serie A (SA) matches last weekend go head-to-head at the Stadio Mario Rigamonti as Brescia take on Juventus.

The returnees have endured mixed fortunes in the early stage of the season (W2, L2), with both of their league wins arriving away from home. Notably, each of their SA results this term have been settled by a narrow one-goal margin, with three of those matches ending with the identical 1-0 scoreline (W1, L2). Lapses of concentration in the final 30 minutes of the game are guilty of Brescia’s lack of goals beyond the 60th minute, as they are yet to score in that period of the match this season. It will be a daunting prospect for the hosts to pick up a win here, as their last top-flight win over Juventus dates back to 2002, with the Bianconeri securing five wins in six SA H2Hs ever since (W5, D1).

Although unbeaten in the opening four rounds of the SA fixtures (W3, D1), the visitors are yet to impress this term. A 0-0 away draw with Fiorentina aside, each of the Old Lady’s three SA outings this season have seen them beat their rivals by a minimal one-goal margin, with Maurizio Sarri’s men picking up a first-half lead twice in the process. Just one triumph in the previous six SA trips should be a warning to Sarri (W1, D2, L3), especially as his side failed to score more than one goal per match in each of those games. Furthermore, the Turin giants won only three of eight competitive visits to this venue in the 21st century (W3, D3, L2), with half of those H2Hs featuring over 2.5 goals (4).
