Braga vs Lille 20/07/19

20 July 2019

Braga and Lille will face-off at the Estádio da Nora for a friendly meeting that sees the two sides looking to maintain a good form in their respective preparations.

The Portuguese giants have enjoyed a run of good form in their pre-season so far (W4, D1), with three of those games producing over 2.5 goals and seeing both teams score. Braga’s sudden rise has seen them go from three-straight defeats to six straight games without a loss, mainly thanks to their impressive defensive displays. They have restricted their opponents to a maximum of one goal per match in their last six outings, with all three of those goals conceded arriving in the first half. The Archbishops can be encouraged by the fact they have scored at least one goal in six of their previous seven matches, bagging 2+ match goals five times along the way.

Meanwhile, it will be Lille’s third friendly this summer (W1, D1), with both of their previous warm-up matches seeing both teams score. An impressive run of form over the past few months has seen Les Dogues secure six wins in their last 11 outings across all competitions (W6, D4, L1). Notably, seven of those games have produced over 2.5 goals while seven of them have witnessed goals at both ends too. A potential worry for Christophe Galtier is that his players have netted precisely one goal per match in three of their last five outings, finding the net in the first half four times though.
