Bradford City vs Liverpool 14/07/19
14 July 2019
Liverpool continue their preparations at the Northern Commercials Stadium as they take on Bradford City in the second summer friendly.
It will be Bradford’s third outing in a pre-season, with the Bantams beating their previous rivals Guiseley and Brighouse Town by the same 2-0 scoreline. Now unbeaten in five straight games (W3, D2), they have managed to bounce back after a dreadful period that has seen them suffer seven consecutive losses, five of which have been to nil. Still, just one of Bradford’s last six matches has produced over 2.5 goals while only two witnessed goals at both ends. Notably, though, five of those games have featured goals in both halves.
The Reds have started their pre-season off on the right foot, securing a massive 6-0 win over the lower-league side Tranmere Rovers. As a result, the reigning Champions League holders are now on a five-game winning run during which they’ve scored 17 goals and conceded just two (4 clean sheets). The Merseysiders have also maintained their free-scoring form that lasts since early March, with Jurgen Klopp’s man netting 2+ match goals in 15 of 16 games in that span. Interestingly, all seven of Liverpool’s previous matches have featured goals in both halves, although just one has seen both teams score.
