Bournemouth vs Huddersfield Town 05/12/18
05 December 2018
In midweek’s Premier League clash at the Vitality Stadium, Bournemouth welcome Huddersfield Town hoping to end a disastrous 4-game losing league streak.
After a promising spell, which saw them securing five victories in six competitive matches, the Cherries have lost four straight Premier League games, including the one to Manchester City on the road last weekend. Eddie Howe’s men have allowed a minimum of two goals in all four recent failures, but they have managed to score exactly one goal in each of those encounters. Although Bournemouth lost their last two local games to Arsenal and Manchester United, they are yet to suffer a loss at home against the sides not involved in European competition. Their main problem relates to shaky defensive displays, as Bournemouth so far conceded 21 goals in 14 EPL outings, keeping a clean sheet just four times in the process.
On the other hand, the visitors have managed to collect two victories in their last four Premier League matches, as they now sit 1-point away from the relegation zone. A 2-0 road win over Wolverhampton has brought Terrier’s five-game away winless streak to an end, and it was also the first time they have kept a clean sheet away from the Kirklees Stadium. With nine goals scored in the opening 14 EPL meetings, David Wagner’s players have the worst goalscoring record in the English top flight, as they have failed to find the back of the net six times so far. Meanwhile, the Terriers have conceded 24 goals ahead of this round, which is the fifth-worst defensive record in England.
