25 November 2018

Sunday’s afternoon kick-off at the Vitality Stadium sees Bournemouth go in search of a positive outcome following back-to-back Premier League losses to Manchester United and Newcastle, as they host Arsenal side who failed to secure a victory in the past three matches across all competitions.

Sixth-placed Bournemouth ended a five-game unbeaten run on home soil in the English top flight by losing to the Red Devils by two goals to one, and they will be looking to bounce back against another EPL giants. Having conceded seven goals in their opening six matches at home, the Cherries are determined to keep a clean sheet in front of the local fans for the third time this campaign. However, Eddie Howe’s men have protected their goal for three straight matches before the two aforementioned defeats. Meanwhile, Calum Wilson and Co. have failed to find the back of the net three times in the opening 12 league games although they’ve scored at least one goal in five out of six home meetings.

On the other hand, the visitors are desperate to end a 3-game winless streak, as they are looking to keep up the pace with Tottenham in the Champions League promotion race. The Gunners have extended their unbeaten run to 16 games across all competitions after being held to a 1-1 draw to Wolverhampton at home last time out. However, it was the fifth consecutive Premier League encounter in which the London club failed to keep a clean sheet. Furthermore, Unai Emery’s players are yet to protect their net on the road, having conceded a minimum of two goals three times in the past five matches away from home. But, Alexandre Lacazette and his fellow teammates have scored at least one goal in their last 11 Premier League games, which makes them one of six teams in the English top flight that failed to bag a goal just once this campaign.
