Borussia Dortmund vs Hertha BSC 07/06/20
07 June 2020
Hertha BSC head to the Signal Iduna Park to take on Borussia Dortmund, hoping to bring a five-game winless run in the Bundesliga (BL) away H2Hs (D2, L3).
Expect for a narrow 1-0 home defeat to Bayern Munich, the hosts have been quite impressive since Germany’s top-flight returned to action in May, winning all other three league fixtures by at least a two-goal margin. Additionally, ‘Die Borussen’ have won all of their remaining five BL home games since the turn of the year, shutting out their opponents on four of those occasions. If they concede the opening goal here, as they did in four of 14 BL home matches so far this season, it may not be the last – Lucien Favre’s men lost just once when they’ve shipped the opener at home (W1, D2).
Meanwhile, the visitors have been nothing short of outstanding since the league restart, winning three of four BL fixtures in May (D1), as they now trail sixth-placed Wolfsburg by four points. Impressively, each of their three successes in the post-pandemic period has yielded a clean sheet and a multiple-goal margin, with the vast majority (88.89%) of their nine goals scored across those wins coming in the second half of play (eight). Also, Bruno Labbadia’s players have avoided defeat in seven consecutive league road trips (W4, D3), scoring over 1.5 goals in the last six such outings.
