Bologna vs Parma 14/05/19
14 May 2019
Bologna and Parma go head-to-head at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara for the Serie A bottom-of-the-table clash with both sides still trying to preserve their top-flight status.
Sitting two points clear of 18th-placed Empoli, the hosts are frantically looking over their shoulders as they come into this meeting off the back of a 2-1 away loss to AC Milan. Last weekend’s defeat has brought Bologna’s four-game SA unbeaten run to a halt (W3, D1), and it was only the second time in their last seven league outings that they’ve conceded over 1.5 match goals. Still, the Greyhounds have been outstanding at home over their past five SA games (W5), with Sinisa Mihajlovic’s men scoring 2+ match goals across all five of those triumphs while restricting their rivals to a maximum of one goal per match each time. Far more comfortable at home, ‘I Rossoblu’ have collected 25 of 37 of their total SA points at this venue (67.57%), with seven of their nine SA victories coming here. However, Bologna have failed to pick up three points in all four of their previous home H2Hs with Parma (D3, L1), with all three of those draws featuring under 2.5 goals.
Meanwhile, the visitors have racked up a frustrating eight-game SA winless streak in the build-up to this fixture (D5, L3), with all of those stalemates coming in the last five SA matchdays. What’s more, after a 2-1 away win over Udinese back in January, the Crusaders struggled to impress on the road, struggling to wrap up three points in all seven of their previous SA away games (D4, L3). Furthermore, Parma’s defensive frailties have seen them keep a clean sheet only once in eight SA road clashes in 2019, with Roberto D’Aversa’ players allowing over 1.5 match goals five times in the process. But, in the same period, the Emilians have scored in seven games, notching over 1.5 match goals four times along the way.
