Bohemians vs Chelsea 11/07/19

11 July 2019

Chelsea begin their preparations ahead of the new season at the Dalymount Park as they take on the Irish outfit Bohemians in a friendly fixture.

The hosts are unbeaten in their last five league outings (W3, D2) as they look to secure a top-three finish and reach the Europa League qualifications. While all three of their wins across that period saw the Gypsies score 2+ match goals and concede at least one, both of their recent draws have ended with the same 0-0 scoreline. Also, Bohs have racked up a four-game unbeaten streak at home (W3, D1), netting over 1.5 goals per match in all three victories while keeping a clean sheet on two occasions during the run.

It will be Chelsea’s first match under Franck Lampard, who took charge of the team after the departure of Maurizio Sarri. Unbeaten in their last nine games across all competitions (W4, D5), the Blues will look to build towards the new season without Eden Hazard, who left the club to join Real Madrid. Interestingly, all four of those Chelsea’s triumphs have seen them score over 2.5 match goals, while four of those five stalemates saw both teams score. Although unbeaten on their last four road trips, the Pensioners have secured just one triumph across those fixtures (W1, D3), with three of those matches featuring under 2.5 goals.
