Beitar Jerusalem vs Atletico Madrid 18/05/19

18 May 2019

Atletico Madrid’s preparation for the new season starts this week as they take on Beitar Jerusalem at Teddy Stadium in Isreal in a friendly challenge.

Even though this clash will have a quite different perspective, the Isreali outfit has the chance to win their seventh league title history as they sit one point above second-placed Hapoel Tel Aviv. Still running for major silverware, the Menorah have won four of their last five competitive outings (W4, L1), with four of those clashes seeing both teams score and produce over 2.5 goals. For Beitar, the majority of the action takes place in the second half, as just three of the last 17 goals that have seen at their games have come before the halftime break (17.65%). Also, Beitar’s home struggling has seen them pick up only three wins in their last 15 home matches (W3, D6, L6). Nine of those games have featured under 2.5 goals (60%), with Nir Klinger’s men scoring 2+ match goals just five times in the process.

Meanwhile, the visitors have finished as runners-up in La Liga for the second year in a row, mainly thanks to their underwhelming away performances. Los Colchoneros’ struggling away from home has not only seen them secure just 28 of their total 76 league points on the road (36.84%), but they have also conceded 65.52% of their total LL goals when on away from home (19 of 29). Also, Los Rojiblancos have failed to clinch all three points in their last three competitive outings (D2, L1), with two of those games producing over 2.5 goals. Typically for them, Diego Simeone’s men have scored one goal or less in four of their previous six competitive matches while restricting their rivals to a maximum of one goal per game on four occasions too.
