Bayern Munich will be facing Borussia Dortmund following an unexpected 2-1 loss to RB Leipzig right before the international break, which was their first league defeat since November, as Jupp Heynckes urges his team to get back to winning ways. Although the Bavarians almost captured another Bundesliga title, the German champions will be looking for a victory against the big rivals, in a match that will take place at the Allianz Arena this weekend. Two teams have already met each other twice this season, in the league and DFB-Pokal, and Bayern won both times. The Black and Yellows won two consecutive games against Frankfurt and Hannover at Signal Iduna Park, and they have three victories in their previous five away matches, as they’re trying to secure the Champions League promotion. Despite the Europa League elimination to RB Salzburg, Peter Stöger’s side demonstrated determination and desire in the national championship in the second half of the season, as they are yet to lose a single Bundesliga game in 2018.

Kingsley Coman is ruled out with a ligament injury, while Manuel Neuer’s return to action remains uncertain. Arjen Robben and Jerome Boateng have minor injury issues, but they should be ready for the big showdown. As for Dortmund, Erik Durm, Shinji Kagawa, Sebastian Rode, Andriy Yarmolenko, and Dan-Axel Zagadou are all dealing with injuries, but the major concern is another thigh injury suffered by Marco Reus, who might have to stay on the sideline
