Bayern Munich vs Paris Saint-Germain 21/07/18
21 July 2018
Two teams that have been dominating French Ligue 1 and Bundesliga last season, comfortably wrapping up the league titles are set for a direct encounter at the Wörthersee Stadium in Klagenfurt, with Paris Saint-Germain looking to take on Bayern Munich. The Parisians have already featured in two low profile friendlies this month recording a minimal success, as they have lost to Chambly by four goals to two and beat Sainte-Genevieve 1-0, although it is fair to be said that they played those matches without their first-team players. As for the Bavarians, their last match dates back to 19 May when they lost to Eintracht Frankfurt in the DFB Pokal final by three goals to one, so this is going to be their first warm-up game ahead of the new season.
Both managers will be denied for the services of many significant first-team members who got an extended break because of the World Cup, but Gianluigi Buffon might get the chance to stand between the posts for the first time since arriving from Juventus. On the other hand, Niko Kovač will have the opportunity to test Serge Gnabry and Renato Sanches who returned to Bayern after spending last season on loans to Hoffenheim and Swansea City.
