Australia vs Colombia 28/03/18

28 March 2018

A 3-2 victory over France last weekend has handed a huge morale boost to Colombia ahead of the upcoming World Cup, and the South American side are looking to extend their two-game winning streak against the struggling Australia team, who miserably lost 4-1 to Norway in Oslo. The match will take place at the Craven Cottage in London. Although Jackson Irvine’s goal given Socceroos the lead, Ola Kamara’s hat-trick has turned the game around. On the other hand, Colombia have made an impressive comeback against the Tri-colours in Paris after rallying from a two-goal deficit, thanks to the stunning performance from James Rodriguez, Luis Muriel, and Radamel Falcao. Both teams will be present at the World Cup, but Australia have to significantly step up their game if they don’t want to go to Russia as travelers. Australia will face the Coffee Growers for the second time in history following a 3-2 defeat in a friendly match in 2001.

Bert van Marwijk’s first game in charge of the Socceroos turned out to be a total disaster because of his decision to experiment with new players, which is why Brad Jones, Josh Risdon, Tomi Juric, and Tim Cahill should return to the starting eleven. José Pékerman could make a couple of changes that concerns James Rodriguez and Falcao, as both might start on the bench.
