Atletico Madrid vs Inter Milan 12/08/18

12 August 2018

The 2018 International Champions Cup has come to its end, with the last match of the prestigious friendly tournament scheduled to take place at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium, where Atletico Madrid will host the Italian giants Inter Milan. Los Colchoneros already featured in two ICC encounters, with Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain, recording a partial success, as they defeated the Gunners after a penalty-shoot-out, while the Parisians outplayed them, eventually securing a 3-2 win. However, Diego Simeone didn’t have the chance to introduce almost his entire starting eleven in none of those games, which shouldn’t be the case against the Nerazzurri, as all key players returned to Madrid last earlier this week. Meanwhile, Inter had a much tighter schedule considering they played four friendlies before facing Chelsea and Lyon at the ICC. Luciano Spalletti’s team failed to impress during the preparation period as they lost to Sion and Chelsea while drawing with Zenit St Petersburg and Sheffield United in the process. The Nerazzurri’s two triumphs came in the opening summer friendly against Lugano, and in their last match against Lyon.

According to the reports, both managers will have all of their first-team members fit and ready for the encounter, with Antoine Griezmann looking to start for the Spanish team for the first time since the end of last season.
