Atalanta vs AS Roma 27/01/19

27 January 2019

An in-form Atalanta (7) are about to host AS Roma (5) to the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d’Italia looking to wrap up all three points and surpass the Rome outfit on the standings.

The hosts hope to extend a four-game unbeaten run across all competitions (W3, D1). Two of Atalanta’s last three wins came with a great deal of fanfare, with the Goddess scoring over 4.5 goals in each. What’s more, no Italian team has scored more goals than Atalanta (44) this term, but surprisingly, just 15 have arrived at home. The Orobici get their name on the scoresheet on a regular basis, having scored in 12 consecutive Serie A outings. In that period, Gian Piero Gasperini’s men have scored over 1.5 goals per match ten times. The problem is that they struggle at the back, having failed to keep a clean sheet in eight of their last ten SA clashes.

On the other hand, the visitors seem to have managed to overcome a severe crisis as they now chase the fifth successive triumph across all competitions. But, La Lupa are dealing with immense problems playing away from home. They’ve achieved just one win in their last six SA road meetings (W1, D3, L2), conceding exactly one goal in four. The efficiency has not been lacking for the Giallorossi in the recent period, with Eusebio Di Francesco’s men scoring over 2.5 goals in four of their last six competitive encounters. The defense has, however, failed to provide the optimal level of security, allowing over 1.5 goals per match six times in the previous ten competitive games.
