Aston Villa vs West Ham United 17/09/19

17 September 2019

Aston Villa and West Ham United go head-to-head at the Villa Park for a match that will close the fifth round of the 2019/20 Premier Leauge (PL) fixtures.

One win after four rounds of the PL fixtures sees the hosts sitting in the relegation territory (W1, L3) immediately upon returning to the top-flight. After both of their opening league games produced over 2.5 goals and saw both teams score, the Villas’ last two PL matches have featured under 2.5 goals and only one side finding the back of the net. Going back to the beginning of March, the Claret & Blue Army won seven of nine competitive home games, all of which have seen them keep a clean sheet. Also, six of those triumphs have witnessed them open the scoring inside the first half with six seeing them score over 1.5 match goals too.

Meanwhile, the visitors have bounced back after a poor start to the new season (D1, L1), securing back-to-back victories ahead of this trip. Importantly, all three of West Ham’s results this term have been settled by a margin of multiple goals, with two of them featuring over 3.5 goals. Also, the Hammers are unbeaten in their last four PL trips (W3, D1), with six of a total of nine goals they’ve netted in those games coming beyond the hour mark. However, the Irons have come out on top only once in their previous nine top-flight visits here (W1, D3, L5), with just three of those H2Hs seeing both teams score.
