AS Roma vs Tottenham Hotspur 26/07/18
26 July 2018
At the SDCCU Stadium in San Diego, Roma and TottenhamHotspur will play against each other as part of the International Champions Cup, which will at the same time be the Spurs’ first match after the end of the season. The Yellow and Reds, who had an outstanding season by their standards, considering they have played in the Champions League semi-finals where Liverpool eliminated them, already participated in two low-quality friendly encounters against Avellino and Latina, achieving a convincing 9-0 win over the latter, while playing out a disappointing 1-1 draw with the former. The 2017/2018 Premier League campaign was the best for the London side, who have been demonstrating distinguished character and impressive football throughout the season, with Mauricio Pochettino hoping to at least repeat the similar performance next year.
Both teams finished third in their respective leagues, and both of them have huge ambitions ahead of the new season, especially Roma, who completed a few notable signings, including Javier Pastore and Dutch prodigy Justin Kluivert. It will also be the second year in a row; Roma and Tottenham are facing off against each other in the ICC, with the Italian giants emerging as winners last summer.
All this summer’s newcomers have found their names on the list of travelers for Roma, includingIvan Marcano, Bryan Cristante, Javier Pastore, and Justin Kluivert. As for the Spurs, Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen won’t be able to help their teammates after getting an extended rest.
