Arsenal vs Manchester United

Saturday’s Premier League action kicks off at the Emirates Stadium as Arsenal and Manchester United go head-to-head in a top-six six-pointer.

Arsenal pulled off a morale-boosting 4-2 triumph away to Chelsea in midweek Premier League action, bringing their underwhelming three-game losing league streak to a halt. After nullifying the gap on fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur, the ‘Gunners’ will be looking to recover from back-to-back home league losses and avenge a 3-2 H2H defeat in the reverse fixture. Despite Arsenal’s patchy domestic form, Mikel Arteta’s men have plenty of reason to look forward to Man United’s visit, as they are unbeaten in their last three top-flight H2Hs at the Emirates (W2, D1) without conceding a single goal in that spread of games. Another shutout here would see the Londoners keep Man United at bay in four consecutive home H2Hs in the competition for the first time in the club’s history.

On the other hand, Manchester United suffered a humiliating 4-0 defeat at Liverpool last time out, making it one win from four Premier League fixtures (D1, L2). With the fourth-placed ‘Spurs’ now three points away, the ‘Red Devils’ need to complete their first league double over Arsenal since 2017/18 to remain in contention for a coveted fourth-place finish. Ralf Rangnick’s men can draw confidence from their stellar Premier League form in London, as they haven’t lost any of their last 13 top-flight visits to the nation’s capital (W8, D5). What’s more, Man United have lost only twice across their 13 previous Premier League H2Hs on Saturdays (W5, D7). Against this backrop, Man United head into proceedings having lost their last three Premier League away games by an aggregate score of 9-1, following a run of seven straight league travels without losing (W4, D3).
