Angers vs Paris Saint-Germain 11/05/19

11 May 2019

Two teams that have had identical returns from their last three Ligue 1 fixtures (W1, D1, L1) go head-to-head at the Stade Raymond-Kopa as Angers tackle Paris Saint-Germain.

The outcome of this clash won’t change anything for mid-table Angers although the hosts would like to post their elusive first win over PSG in H2Hs (D1, L8). Even though they’ve suffered just two defeats in their last ten L1 fixtures, Les Scoïstes have played out six draws in that period (W2, D6, L2), with 50% of those games featuring over 2.5 goals. Notably, Stéphane Moulin’s men are unbeaten in seven straight L1 home outings following a 2-1 defeat to Bordeaux back in January (W3, D4). However, for Angers, goals have been at a premium recently. They’ve scored precisely one goal per match in all four of their previous L1 games, with three of them coming in the second half.

Paris Saint-Germain won’t have a better chance to end a three-game winless run across all competitions (D1, L2) as they come face-to-face with a team whom they’ve outplayed in all seven of their previous competitive H2H meetings. A run of poor form has seen the visitors pick up just one win in their last six L1 outings (W1, D2, L3), with Thomas Tuchel’s men allowing over 1.5 match goals four times in that span. What’s more, all three of PSG’s defeats since mid-April have come away from home, with the Parisians conceding 3+ match goals in each. Still, with 39 goals netted on the road, the reigning holders can boast the best attacking record in the French top tier having averaged 2.29 goals scored per away match.
