Amiens vs Paris Saint-Germain 13/01/19

13 January 2019

After a shock Coupe de France elimination to Guingamp, Paris Saint-Germain return to the Ligue 1 action as they take on Amiens at the Stade de la Licorne.

The hosts have already featured one league encounter this year, having played out a goalless draw with Angers at home. It was the third successive competitive Amiens’ meeting that has produced under 2.5 goals, but also the third in which they’ve managed to dodge a failure. However, the Unicorns are winless in their last four home Ligue 1 outings (D1, L3) as they still struggle to overcome difficulties in the final third. Their problems in the attack have seen Christophe Pelissier’s men scored under 1.5 goals per match in the previous five Ligue 1 home clashes, failing to hit the back of the net in both of their last two home L1 games.

Still unbeaten in the Ligue 1 (W15, D2), the Parisians have suffered first defeat in domestic competitions this season, losing 2-1 to Guingamp at Parc des Princes. But, the French heavyweights are unbeaten in their last ten road meetings in all competitions (W7, D3), having scored over 1.5 goals per match eight times in that period. Still, Thomas Tuchel’s players have failed to wrap up all three points on the previous two road trips in Ligue 1, being held to a pair of draws in which they’ve struggled to keep a clean sheet. Nonetheless, only Nice (6) conceded fewer goals away from home than PSG (7) this term, with the reigning holders keeping a clean sheet three times on the past five road trips in the league.
