AC Milan vs Lazio 25/04/19

25 April 2019

After playing out a goalless draw at the Stadio Olimpico in the first leg, AC Milan and Lazio go head-to-head for the return leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final tie as the Rossoneri hope to stretch their unbeaten run against the Bianconeri at the Estadio Giuseppe Meazza to five games across all competitions (W3, D2).

The hosts are not enjoying the best of times have picked up barely one triumph in their last six competitive clashes (W1, D2, L3), with four of those clashes featuring under 2.5 goals. However, their home fans can be encouraged by the fact the Milanese giants have secured six wins in nine of their previous competitive home outings (W6, D2, L1), preserving six clean slates while allowing over 1.5 goals per match only once during the run. Still, Gennaro Gattuso has to find the way to solve Milan’s difficulties in the final third that have seen them failed to score 2+ match goals in three of their last five home encounters.

Meanwhile, the visitors come into this meeting determined to clinch their first win over Milan after six straight unsuccessful attempts (D4, L2). In that period, the Rome-based outfit has failed to hit the net four times, scoring precisely one match goal on the two remaining occasions. For Lazio, goals have been in short supply in seven of their previous competitive away clashes, with Simone Inzaghi’s men struggling to hit the net three times while bagging precisely one match goal in the remaining four. Additionally, all five of Lazio’s last away games have produced under 2.5 goals with just one featuring goals on both ends.
